"To Benefit Cancer Care at Eisenhower Medical Center"      

 

        Get your best formal wear for the 6th Annual Holiday Voices black tie dinner dance on Saturday, December 6, at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage. Show business legend Anna Maria Alberghetti will be the featured entertainer, and Coachella Valley CBS-2 television personality Erik Sandoval will serve as Master of Ceremonies.  Other entertainment includes the Desert Carolers, and Tony Rose and his orchestra.  Eisenhower Medical Center's Stuart Barton, MD, will be honored at the event.  Honorary Chairs for Holiday Voices are Mr. and Mrs. Greg Renker.

        

        Sponsored by the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary, the gala evening will begin with a hosted reception and silent auction for an array of wonderful holiday decor, artwork and more.  Tickets are $250 per person. Proceeds from Holiday Voices will benefit the Lucy Curci Cancer Center at Eisenhower and the Healing Garden in memory of Dr. Sebastion George. 

        

ANNA MARIA ALBERGHETTI:

        The star of stage, screen and television was just 13 years old when she made her concert debut at Carnegie Hall.  The New York Times hailed her voice as possessing some of the purest, loveliest sounds that have ever been heard.  Appearances with the New York Philadelphia Symphony followed.  Ed Sullivan then introduced her to national television audiences on his popular Sunday night variety show. Anna Maria also appeared on Ford Star Jublilee's "A Bell for Adano" followed by numerous starring roles on television.  Movie roles included "Here Comes the Groom," "The Last Command," and "Cinderfella." Concert tours throughout Europe, Australia and Latin America added to her success.  On Broadway, her starring role in the musical "Carnival" won her the coveted Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical.

        

MASTER OF CEREMONIES:

        Erik Sandoval anchors CBS-2 News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., and hosts the valley's only live arts and entertainment program, "Eye on the Desert."  He arrived in Palm Springs from Champaign, Illinois, where he anchored news for the NBC affiliate for four years.

       

ENTERTAINMENT:

        The Desert Carolers are a quartet costumed in traditional Victorian Dickens attire who sing a full repertoire of traditional holiday carols and contemporary favorites.  Their experience ranges from Broadway, to major opera companies worldwide.

 

HONORARY CHAIR:

        Greg Renker, a founding principal of Guthy-Renker, an informercial studio that has since evolved into all forms of electronic retailing, manages one of the largest television response-driven companies, and the largest private business in Coachella Valley with annual sales in excess of $750 million. Greg is a member of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of Eisenhower Medical Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower.

          

TO BE HONORED:

        Dr. Stuart Barton has been a respected member of the Eisenhower Medical Center staff since the hospital opened in 1971.  One of a unique group of 18 doctors called the Founding Physicians of Eisenhower, Dr. Barton established an otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) practice at Eisenhower, and has remained in active practice ever since.
